XUAN LAM DRAWS MODERN SPIN ON FOLK
Emerging artist inspires new love for traditional Vietnamese Painting
The first exhibition of young artist Nguyen Xuan Lam, “Re-draw Vietnamese Folk Paintings” ("Vẽ lại tranh dân gian"), kicks off on January 13 in Hanoi, and is an opportunity for art lovers to admire traditional folk art that applies a more modern graphic style.
Retaining the spiritual and artistic value of traditional works, values that speak directly to Tet, Lam has produced 20 pieces to display until the end of February. Notable for delivering a ‘strange but familiar’ beauty, Lam may be young of age, but is leaving no stone unturned in his artistic journey having graduated from the Fine Arts University of Vietnam last year. He’s one to watch. Look out!
The exhibition lasts from 13.01 to 28.02.2017 at nest by AIA Hanoi, 5th Floor, Tower B, Vincom, 191 Ba Trieu.
