Blade Runner 2049 Teaser Trailer Released
Harrison Ford Back with Ryan Gosling in Cult Classic Sequel
“Reaction time is a factor in this so please pay attention” - Holden, Blade Runner (1982)
In Ridley Scott’s original sci-fi classic, an unnerving vision of the future is put forward. A future where ‘replicants’ live illegally amongst humans in dark, overcrowded cities - in this case a 2019 version of Los Angeles. When four return to earth seeking revenge for their enslavement on an ‘off-world’ colony, ex-cop Richard Deckard (Harrison Ford) is the ‘Blade Runner’, hired to kill them. What follows is a journey deep into the underbelly of this strange, twisted world and a pulsating film-noir thriller.
In ‘Blade Runner 2049’, it’s thirty years later, and Deckard is nowhere to be found. LAPD Officer 'K', played by Ryan Gosling (Drive, La La Land) has unearthed a secret that threatens to plunge an already damaged society into chaos. All we know is that it leads him on a quest to find Deckard, and the rest you’ll have to wait and see.
The sequel's cast of writers includes Ridley Scott himself along with Phillip K Dick (Do Androids Dream of Sheep?) and also stars Jared Leto (Suicide Squad, Dallas Buyers Club), Mackenzie Davis (Martian, Black Mirror) and newcomer Anna de Armas (War Dogs). The prolific-of-late Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Sicario) is also directing. Check out the first teaser trailer below.
