BLADE RUNNER 2049 TEASER TRAILER RELEASED
Harrison Ford Back with Ryan Gosling in Cult Classic Sequel
“Reaction time is a factor in this so please pay attention” - Holden, Blade Runner (1982)
In Ridley Scott’s original sci-fi classic, a macabre and unnerving vision of the future is put forward. It’s a future where ‘replicants’ live illegally amongst humans in dark, overcrowded cities - in this case a 2019 version of Los Angeles. When four fugitive ‘skin-jobs’ return to earth seeking revenge for their enslavement on an ‘off-world’ colony, ex-cop Richard Deckard (Harrison Ford) is the titular ‘Blade Runner’, hired to find and kill them. What follows is a journey deep into the underbelly of this strange, twisted world and a pulsating film-noir thriller that leads one of modern film's most famous anti-heroes to question the nature of what it is to be human, giving rise to a movie that remains a must-see cult favourite to this day.
In ‘Blade Runner 2049’, it’s thirty years later, and Deckard is nowhere to be found. LAPD Officer 'K', played by Ryan Gosling (Drive, La La Land) has unearthed a secret that threatens to plunge an already damaged society into chaos. All we know is that it leads him on a quest to find Deckard, and the rest you’ll have to wait and see. Is it worth it? We think so. The cast of writers includes Ridley Scott himself and Phillip K Dick (Do Androids Dream of Sheep?) and also stars Jared Leto (Suicide Squad, Dallas Buyers Club), Mackenzie Davis (Martian, Black Mirror - TV) and newcomer Anna de Armas (War Dogs). The prolific-of-late Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Sicario) is also directing. Check out the first teaser trailer below.
