Film: Luong Dinh Dung’s ‘Father And Son’ Wins Internationally
Vietnamese film also up for a “Remi Award” in Houston, Texas
The 50th Annual Worldfest Houston International Film Festival has nominated Luong Dinh Dung’s ‘Father & Son’ for its prestigious “Remi Award” in 2017. One of the oldest independent film festivals in the world, they’ve previously awarded films by Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Ang Lee, Ridley Scott and Francis Ford Coppola to name a few.
In addition, the Boston International Film Festival, also scheduled for April, has taken the film into consideration for its awards. Previously the film has already taken out prizes for Best Cinematography (Barcelona Film Festival) and Best Feature Film (Canadian Film Festival).
Focusing on the story of a young boy, ‘Fish’ dreams of seeing the world before his time is up, and ends up on a magical journey of father-son bonding, based on a story the director wrote in 1995. Emotional tear-jerker with a soundtrack by Korean composer Lee Dong Jun, the artist behind the sounds of many of that country’s popular movies like “Miracle in Cell No. 7” and “Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War”.
