Hanoi Hair Salon Gets The Bead Treatment
H&P Architects Complete Renovation Project in Van Quan
Re-using existing materials including the door, glass and the facade of an existing apartment building, Vietnamese architectural firm H&P wanted to establish an ‘unusual but familiar space’ for this project in a popular part of downtown Hanoi. Notably, the compact salon includes over 200,000 strings of beads, which hang from the ceiling at various lengths, rustle in the wind and are the obvious centrepiece of the shop’s design. Allowing maximum natural light via the all glass frontage, they’ve also achieved a sense of space and warmth, by contrasting the old materials with the new.
Completed in November, the is one salon that has been turning heads, and cutting hair ever since!
