IZ Architects Bring the Outside In
Innovative Design Blends Natural Elements and Traditional Ideology
What makes a house really a ‘home’ in today’s world? Top-of-the-line appliances? A stunning view? Decadent design? Well, one group of Danang architects (Le Vinh, Nguyen Cuong and Son Tran) have their own idea. And it’s exemplified in their IZ Architects’ 7x7 house.
Their design creates a friendly and flexible space that incorporates traditional buddhist aesthetics. The use of trees also plays an important role in accentuating the open spaces like the light wells. And both floors are intimately connected so family members can comfortably communicate across levels.
The idea was to manufacture an effective, energy-saving house that heavily references the region’s natural beauty.
With modern, eco-friendly approaches to architecture such as this 7 x 7 House, we can take comfort in the knowledge that in the hands of architects like IZ a home is more than just a utilitarian space — it’s a beautiful unification of culture, environment and personality.
