Photo Contest ‘Vietnam From Above’ Presents Iconic Aerial Images
Look At Some Of The Most Extraordinary Drone Shots Of Vietnam In 2017
The Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association just announced their competition winners for 2017. The contest, called ‘Vietnam From Above’, received over 3,400 submissions from 358 photographers. The top 100 photos were shortlisted for the final round, where a professional judging panel handpicked the final 16 images for an exclusive upcoming collection from Phuong Nam Calendar Company.
First prize was awarded to one of Vietnam’s first drone aficionados, Nguyen Vinh Hien, with a sensational photo of sunset over Cape Ca Mau. “I camped for three days at the location to wait for favorable weather conditions and capture Cape Ca Mau at its most stunning,” Hien said. “The photo’s high quality was thanks to my VND150 million [US$6,600] drone."
Second place was a tie between Nguyen Tien Dung for his remarkable image of salt flats, and Nguyen Hoang Nam for a phenomenal capture of ducks crossing an alluvial-coloured river. And three third prizes went to photos by Ho Chi Minh City-based photographers — Giang Son Dong, Nguyen The Duong and Nguyen Minh Tan.
