3- Bare-armed Dress with wide skirt (Katie Greenaway, $8) and flat gondolier hat with high-riding daisy (John Federica, $8) are admired by girls in dungarees.

4 – Ruffled Slip of polka-dot nylon (Style Undies, $9) is stiff enough to buoy full-skirted dresses, has snug elasticized camisole top.

5 – Peppermint Top which copies boy’s shirt ($5) is worn with pleated skirt ($5, both Revro) and leather cinch.

6 – Party Print of cotton with lightly scooped neck and built-in petticoat (Children’s House, $20) goes with pink pumps.

7 – Circus Stripes on cotton, woven like linen toweling, make cropped jacket ($6) and full skirt ($8, Miss Hene). Straw gondolier hat tops it off.

8 – Princess Dress of rayon linen (Suzy Brooks, $11), with tote bag (Pyramind, $3) gives a taste of what a girl can wear as an older young lady.

9 – Wide Skirts worn over plenty of petticoats. The banana-printed square-dance skirt ($7) has a matching scoop-necked top ($3, both Mademoiselle Modes); the crinkled cotton skirt which is striped with rickrack ($9) is worn with a cap-sleeved blouse ($3, both Derby).
