Saigon Children’s Charity (SCC) will continue its annual sporting event to raise money for disadvantaged children by organizing the tenth Saigon Cyclo Challenge.

The event is organized to turn a challenge into a chance for local and expatriates to share their community spirit as well as to bring together thousands of spectators and supporters for a day of crazy sporting challenges and great entertainment.

Unlike previous years, SCC marks its tenth anniversary annual Saigon Cyclo Challenge by inviting for the first time celebrities to join the charitable sporting event. Some actors and actresses are also planning to attend the event, including Ngo Thanh Van, Johnny Tri Nguyen, Thanh Thuy, Quyen Linh, Hoang Bach, Luong The Thanh, Hoang Phuc and Minh Beo among others.

SCC says it will add new features to the event to make it more fun and family-friendly, including a classic car display showcasing models like Mercedes-Benz Pagoda Sports, Citroen DS, and a Fiat 500.

The organizer expected to receive some 3,000 people at the event this year and hoped to raise the same amount as last year, some US$70,000. Proceeds from the Cyclo Challenge will fund Saigon Children’s Charity’s education programs for children in Vietnam from disadvantaged background.
