ALEXANDER WANG RELEASES ADIDAS ORIGINALS MARK III
Third installment of collab to drop April 1. No joke.
Modern fashion icon Alexander Wang is about to release the third delivery of his collaboration with sneaker pimps Adidas, reconstructing their classic three-stripers into what sneakernews.com calls ‘a high-fashion aesthetic perfect for the Spring 2017 season.’
Speaking to Vogue online, Wang said the first two drops (the first happened via his Spring runway back in September, which went on sale from the back of New York delivery trucks on March 1) had opened up a new audience for him. “Sneakerheads and hypebeasts who might not have found something in the Alex Wang brand before,” he said. “It was exciting to see the people who lined up to buy the product; some knew about the brand and some were there to buy and resell their items.”
With signed versions of those shoes currently on ebay for $8,000, few are surprised that this campaign just keeps going - Wang and Adidas have even signed up for a second, entirely different season. While Wang dreams up new and original ways of launching and distributing that, the third delivery of the current collab will be available in Alexander Wang and Adidas Original stores on April 1.
