Le Thanh Hoa’s SS17 Show At The Museum of Fine Arts
A collection inspired by Hue’s ancient art of porcelain-making
Last night, in the gardens of the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts, light drizzle became the perfect backdrop to Le Thanh Hoa's presentation of ‘Lam Vu’ (Blue Feathers). Divided into three parts; ‘lotus’, ‘porcelain blue’, and ‘the sublime’, the 31 year-old designer wove together a refined elegance that had those assembled enchanted.
As seated guests huddled under sheer white umbrellas, Hoa's models walked out in stunning designs that paid homage to the traditional art of porcelain-making in Hue, known as ‘phap lam’. For this collection, Le Thanh Hoa presented a palette of green, red, blue, and gold; found in the ancient capital's architecture. His dressmaking ability produced classic, sophisticated silhouettes befitting a true lady.
