Lookbook: 'Superhero To Fail' By Tran Ngoc Chien
Avant-garde designer launches menswear collection
Local designer and FACE Fashion Workshop graduate Tran Ngoc Chien has launched a cutting edge menswear collection for independent designer label Cheen.
The collection, dubbed ‘Superhero to Fail’, features a stunning array of bold looks that show the designer taking a fresh approach to classic tailoring while adding extravagant and eccentric finishes.
‘Superhero to Fail’ includes a number of tightly fitted suits featuring drainpipe trousers and blazers in silk and brocade in bold prints; from block stripe to barbed wire motifs.
Outerwear includes a knee length coat in silk finished with oversize lapels and huge embroidered robots in chains, as well as a boxing inspired hooded cape encrusted with wild diamante shapes.
Accessories range from enormous, Hasidic style top hats to heavily customised white slip on sneakers to a truly awe-inspiring pair of knee length green velvet boots – styled with just a pyjama shirt.
One thing is for certain: anyone stepping out in this collection will not get lost in the crowd. See ‘Superhero to Fail’ by Tran Ngoc Chien below:
