Photo Diary: “Co Ba Dong Duong” by BuiRoss
Traditional dress inspired by a throroughly modern Indochina
Presenting a range of styles reminiscent of traditional oriental beauty, BuiRoss’s fashion show ‘Co Ba Dong Duong’ had Saigon’s A-list turning out at Hotel des Arts last Saturday. Featuring models who glided across parquetry floors, and sunshine that shimmied its way through broad windows to reveal the city’s eminent skyline, the noble beauty of women was celebrated with the verve and swagger of modern Asia, yet with definite nods to the allure of days gone by.
Modern women the likes of Trang Pham, Le Thuy, Cha Mi, Do Ha, Kikki Le, Hoang Oanh and Tran Hien were on hand to absorb Huy Vo’s delicate pallette of colours, texture, detail and fabrics, with his fine grain Vietnamese craftmanship always evident, not only in his clothes, but in the overall presentation of the ‘society’ look his collection represents. Other notable names at the lunch time show were Truc Diem, Kathy Uyen, Bui Viet Ha, Cao Thai Ha and Dzung Yoko.
