Apple’s Super-Powered iPhone Launch
Tech Giant Surges Into September With Anniversary iPhone X
Apple surged into September with some super-powered product lines. Big news, as the recent leak predicted, was the tenth-anniversary-celebrating iPhone X (tip: when you’ve emptied your account, and have finally stopped queuing, and have reached the counter ask for the ‘iPhone ten’). And although the launch did feature the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, and other wonders like an Apple Watch upgrade, to a ‘series 3’, and an Apple TV 4K, it’s the X that’s made headlines with its full-screen frontage.
As an anniversary edition the phone also takes a smart glance back to the original iPhone with its stainless steel banding and that black front. It’s also dropped the home button in favor of facial recognition (that stuttered but finally worked at the launch held at the new Steve Jobs Theatre). And before you start panicking that your phone won’t open because you woke up somewhere strange with no makeup on and bed hair, Apple say the system can’t be fooled by glasses, hats or hairdo realignments. But then they haven’t seen us in the morning, so let’s see.
Besides the OLED edge-to-edge 5.8 inch screen, and that facial recognition that knows you better than your dog, there’s Animoji, a feature that emojis your expression, a new portrait camera feature, that lets you add lighting to portrait shots, and, maybe best of all, wireless charging.
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will be available in Vietnam in October, and the X will drop in December. Now go get gushy like every tech blog out there with your own closer look below.
