Desino's Revolutionary Factory's Design
Ho Khue Architects Have Created A Worker-Conscious Collaborative Manufacturing Space
Most manufacturing spaces are crudely functional, with no care and attention given over to how our surroundings can positively impact productivity.
However, Ho Khue architects had a better idea. Their Desino garment and accessory factory in Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Chanh District has been designed with the worker in mind. The facility consists of three buildings with a combined 8,000 square meters of space.
Hierarchical separations between workers’ ranks were erased with open areas. This removal of partitions also increased employees’ chances for communication and collaboration.
And there’s plenty of calming green space, and the extensive use of glass has increased the amount of light entering the interiors. Not only is this benefitting worker relations, but customers are connecting more deeply with a company so committed to its staff.
