The Tattoo Trend Celebrities May Grow To Regret
Latest tattoo craze sees it crowd bare their birthdays
Ever eager to find new ways to express themselves, young celebrities in the US and UK have taken to emblazoning their birth years on their bodies. From the likes of Anwar Hadid, to One Direction’s Liam Payne, to Kylie Jenner’s main crew girl Victoria Villarroel, declaring your age has never been cooler.
Tattoo artist to the young, hip and famous, ‘JonBoy’, (the man behind Kendal Jenner’s inner lip tattoo) is the author of most of the tats, some of which he has posted on his Instagram page. Interpretations range from Payne’s bold ‘1993’, inked vertically down the length of his forearm to Villarroel’s barely visible ‘92’, printed in gothic script on her ankle, the star continuing the trend for tiny tattoos.
Hadid’s ‘1999’, fixed across the nape of his neck is perhaps the most depressing for those of us that remember the year clearly. However it also reminds us of the linear nature of time and how, in years to come, these bright young things may be less keen to advertise their age. Guess it’s too late now.
