The age old policy of saving the best until last will come into full effect this New Year’s Eve as Ho Chi Minh City hosts one of the biggest public parties of the year.

 

The Heineken Countdown Party will take place in Nguyen Hue Boulevard in Ho Chi Minh City providing an expected audience of hundreds of thousands, with a suitably special setting in which to see in 2012.

 

International artists appearing at the Ho Chi Minh City event include the beautiful singer Aimi along with DJ Emrah - the duo who produced the song I love Istanbul which topped European billboards earlier this year. Famed American guitarist/producer Joy Basu has performed with international stars such as Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Lopez and will bring his international touch to the local audience. Vietnamese star Ho Ngoc Ha will also fire up the stage. [see full line-up below]

 

 

The extravaganza will be complemented by another Heineken bash at the “2/4 Square“ in the coastal city of Nha Trang, also with international and local stars on stage. Nha Trang will also see a huge firework spectacle launched from the sea when the clock hits 12.

 

In addition to the music, a host of pyrotechnics will be utilised to guarantee a massive ‘wow’ factor. A 20 metre high stage will be divided into two layers – the upper level for DJs, the lower for singers and dancers – while its 360 degree design will ensure that the crowds get the best possible view of the action. A state of the art light show, meanwhile, will be synchronised with the music to bathe the audience in laser-powered colour.

 

While the music and entertainment is sure to keep the party atmosphere cooking, the highlight of the bash will undoubtedly be the countdown itself, which will be capped at the stroke of midnight by a fireworks display that will light up the Saigon night and mark the start of new year in spectacular style.
