First International Multimedia Exhibition on Jean Paul Gaultier Rocks the Museum World. Organized by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) and beginning June 17, The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Side Walk to the Catwalk will reveal how Gaultier’s renowned multicultural, gender-bending aesthetic has succeeded in capturing the mood of the times. Marking the 35th anniversary of the designer’s own label, the multimedia exhibition features roughly 120 brash and bold haute couture (80%) and ready-to-wear garments and accessories for men and women spanning from 1976 to 2010.

Original, never-before-seen photographs by leading contemporary artists and photographers including Andy Warhol, Cindy Sherman, Pierre & Gilles, and David LaChapelle will further bring to light Gaultier’s eclectic, multidisciplinary scope of inspiration and extraordinary creative vision.

His legendary collaborations with today’s leading pop/rock stars, filmmakers, and choreographer will also be revealed through excerpts and film stills from music videos, concerts, runway shows, dance performances, and TV shows.
