The Smurf's Movie is the first live-action adaptation of the 1980's hit comic animated series to hit the big screen. The blockbuster children's film debuted at the Galaxy cinemas Nguyen Du on Sunday 31st last week. The cinema was decorated white and blue as far as the eye could see with celebs and supersized smurfs roaming the faux smurf village. This strictly-for-kids movie has been described by Variety magazine "Adorable and annoying, patently unnecessary yet kinda sweet, it's a calculated commercial enterprise with little soul but an appreciable amount of heart". The movie will be released nationwide on the 5th of August 2011.
