Q&A with designer Tylor Ho

Tylor Ho is a fashion whirlwind – designing lines for the US & Asia, running his own successful Boutique and producing some of the most gorgeous lookbooks around. It’s no surprise that Ho is in hot demand, having cut his teeth in the fashion industry with labels like Brooks Brothers, Theory and TSE. In 2005, he broke away to create his own line, Tylho, which takes inspiration from street fashion, vintage clothing, and old-world dressmaking techniques.

His perfect tailoring, effortlessly chic dresses and whimsical detailing have won him a legion loyal fans in Ho Chi Minh City, and spots in high-profile stores abroad like Nordstrom, Barney’s Japan and Isetan.

We managed to catch up to this busy fellow for long enough to find out his guilty pleasure, his hidden talent and the trend he’s just plain sick of seeing.

Right now I feel…
Pleased to have Fall12 off my chest – now I must move on to design  spring 2013 for the US market.

My latest inspiration is…
I was in Bali a few weeks back and I loved how carefree people were at the beach, and the unique decor of the temples outside people’s houses. Each temple was wrapped in fabric of a distinct checked pattern and color.

Fashion designer.

If I weren’t a designer I would be…
An architect or a chef.

Coffee bean. I don't have one!

The last thing I bought was…
Fabrics for Spring 2013 development
