Vietnam’s glitterati were on show last Friday as The Sheraton hosted the 2009 VIP Wedding Fashion Show. The front row and the catwalk were a veritable cornucopia of the bold and the beautiful with top actors and models such as Miss Viet Nam 2008 Tran Thi Thuy Dung, Mister International 2008 Tien Doan and actors Thanh Thuc & Jonny Tri Nguyen rubbing shoulders and enjoying being seen, whilst the paparazzi were on hand to record their every movement.

On the night three dresses worn in beauty contests, including the ao dai worn by Tran Thi Huong Giang runner up of Miss Global Vietnam 2009, were auctioned off to raise money for the city’s Oncology Hospital and city’s orphans.The VIP launch was followed by the main shows on Saturday and Sunday, which were open to the public. They were accompanied by exhibits from designers, hair and makeup artists and other bridal services.

The event was organised by P.L. Model Agency in conjunction with The Sheraton and it was a lavish show. The centre piece was a spring themed catwalk bedecked with lamps entwined with ivy & flowers, flashy lighting and well chosen music. The ballroom, lined with more wedding outfits on mannequins, had been transformed into a bride’s paradise.
