BLACKPINK Drop New MV ‘As If It’s Your Last’
New single from K-Pop sensation gets 10million hits in one day
Korean girl group BLACKPINK released the music video for their new single ‘As If It’s Your Last’ on Thursday (22 June), which has racked-up over 10,000,000 hits on YouTube in less than 24 hours.
Dubbed the girls’ ‘come back’, As If It’s Your Last is the first single from the girl group since November’s Stay, which to date has received an astonishing 59,000,000 views on YouTube.
Created by top K-Pop hot house YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK consists of Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé, all aged between 20 and 22. The group was launched in August last year with two singles: Boombayah and Whistles, both bassy, EDM influenced tracks that portray the girls as rebellious bad girl types.
As if It’s Your Last is a little poppier, although a signature micro-rap punctuates the saccharine beat. In line with the K-Pop aesthetic, the video is highly sexualised, with the girls raunching around in schoolgirl uniforms complete with micro mini-skirts, stockings and suspenders - making the video for Britney Spears’ Hit Me Baby One More Time look like a sermon from the Pope.
