PHU QUOC TO HOST EPIZODE FESTIVAL
Russian Promoters to Create Largest International Sea Festival in SE Asia
If you’re struggling with your New Year’s plans, salvation may be at hand. Epizode Festival claims to be the largest international sea festival in Southeast Asia, put together by a group of Russian promoters famous for established Moscow events spaces SPACE Moscow, GIPSY and Konstruktor (all well worth a google search). In collaboration with local promoters Dong Do Show Company and 99 Mountains, they’ll be bringing a two week, yes two week, event to life on the pearl island of Phu Quoc, starting on December 31.
Celebrated for being one of Vietnam’s most beautiful paradises - notwithstanding concerns about over-development - the festival is promising a wide variety of beach activities, with live DJs from all over the world at the forefront. Headliners include the likes of the UK’s John 00 Fleming, who’s been called ‘a national treasure of trance music’ by Pete Tong, alongside an extensive list including Julia Govor, Bushwacka and Alexid to name but a few.
Also on the menu are art exhibitions, film screenings and of course, kite flying. Though perhaps we should leave it to our friends from Moscow to explain it best. This from their website:
“An episode is a part of a piece of art that has a certain autonomy. An episode is related to the main theme, but at the same time it is laconic and may be allocated as a separate story.”
Does that clear it up? Ok then, go look at their site for more information.
